TNtravelerHi Guys, Got all new tires about 1000 miles ago. They also replaced the tire sensors. Tire Alarm light was still on and I can live with that BUT now the tire alarm is Bonging all the time. Tire pressure is 35 all around. How can I get the bonger to stop bonging!!! Thanks as always for you help...Jim in TN
BeWareWhen they replaced the low tire sensors did the recalibrate them? Doesn't sound to me like they did. Take it back or to a dealer and have them recalibrated.
ALLEY CATAssuming the tire sensors were replaced with OEM Mopar/Prowler specific sensors,,,I agree with Rich's thought above. The installer's computer has to be plugged into your car, and starting from the front right tire, going clockwise, they need to be programmed into your 'puter to operate correctly.
If you went with aftermarket sensors,,,then that is a different situation
padrooTake it back to where you had your work done, they didn't finish the job.

Discount Tire told me they couldn't do mine.

I ended up getting my sensors from NAPA since the ones discount tires here used would not calibrate. They were a slightly different frequency. Discount tire had no issues re-installing them and calibrating after that. My car is an 02 so not too expensive at all.

CAT-A-TONICHi dbudner.......Regarding your calibrations for the sensors. Do the end results mean that your tire pressure warning system that's factory, works as normal? I believe that were supposed to get a dash light when there's a four pound difference between the tire spec's as to what was programed into the system. As an experiment, have you let enough air out of one of the tires to trip the dash warning light?
TomcalIn 2002 Chrysler changed Tire Pressure Sensor design (smaller) and it's electronics. 2002 transmits at a different frequency than earlier models. Receiving module was also changed in 2002 to accommodate new frequency.

2002 TPS are not interchangeable with earlier Prowlers. Likewise, older TPS are not compatible with 2002 units.

To use the 2002 smaller TPS's you must also change the receiver module.

Make sure you have the correct year TPS installed.
